Electrician Somalia

Electrician Seeking a qualified candidate to perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of fixtures and equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. This position will be based out of different locations in Somalia. The duration of this position will be approximately one year. Any extensions are subject to customer and program direction. The duties and responsibilities herein are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. Responsibilities include:

• Will install typical residential type electrical fixtures to include wiring, lighting, power outlets, main electrical cable and utility layout, termination to power generation facility, etc. • Completing reports and performing administrative duties.

• Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment, and spare parts for the electrical shop.

• Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from drawings, layouts, or other specifications.

• Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment.

• Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.

• Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.

• Maintains and repairs interior building electrical distribution including switchgear, uninterrupted power supplies, wiring, breaker panels, and electrical distribution system, switches, outlets, light fixtures, exit lights, and mounted emergency lights.

• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the site supervisor. Requirements – Desired Qualifications:

• Must have an Electrician Vocational Diploma, and/or an electrical engineering qualification, or completed an Apprentice Program with an Electrical Certification.

• Preferred minimum 10 years’ experience as an Electrician.

• Must be capable of troubleshooting, layout, and installation of all low voltage circuits.

• Language Skills: Professional English communication skills, both oral and written.

• Preferred experience working at different construction sites to include working in austere conditions.

• Demonstrated experience working in a variety of civil engineering and construction projects. • Preferred experience working in Africa.

• Must be physically fit and healthy to execute work in an extreme hot environment.

• Must be capable to work with multiple different cultures.
